Overview
At the Waldorf Hotel has been a landmark of Vancouver’s heritage for over 60+ years.
The Tiki Bar at the Waldorf Hotel was the first Tiki Bar to open in Canada, making it the second oldest Tiki Bar in the Americas. What sets the hotel apart is it’s multi-venue structure and its ability to give customers a unique experience unlike any in Vancouver.
Goals
Revive & Stand Out
Increase customer engagement and rapport
Create on-brand aesthetic, connecting both online and physical presence of the hotel
Differentiate from other tiki/cocktail venues in the city
Encourage community involvement in East Van and bring people into the establishment
Pay homage to the history of the Waldorf
Challenges
Incohesive Brand Identity
Branding of the physical establishment was incohesive with the online website
Services and amenities not well advertised
There was confusion between the 3 different event spaces
Unique history and selling point not presented on website
Unclear target demographic, reflected in branding and design
Young people had lost connection with the establishment
Solution
A Branded Site With Accessible Event & Venue Info
Made it possible to purchase tickets for events easily on the site
Show the different venues, making services and amenities known
Show the Tiki cocktail menu and future events, keeping users updated
Re-establish the reputation of the hotel, with a bolder look, aligning with the demographic
Made the history of the Waldorf available on the website, to engage the community
